Owners of the HTC One M7 and One M8 Google Play Edition devices have been waiting weeks for their promised Lollipop upgrades, and following a series of delays, they’re here. What’s more, they have become the first to get Google’s latest Android 5.0.1 software over-the-air.

Many of Google’s Nexus devices have only just gotten their Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrades, and already the search giant is making Android 5.0.1 factory images available to download. The updates should soon be rolled out over-the-air to more recent Nexus devices, but those who know how to can flash them manually right away.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 will get its Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade by the end of this year, according to one European carrier, while the Galaxy Note 4 will get the same release in January. The rollouts will make Samsung’s flagship Galaxy devices some of the first third-party smartphones to get Google’s latest Android software.
