Google has made a small amendment to its Play Store guidelines for developers, banning them from using customer testimonials in their app and game descriptions. The rule is designed to prevent the manipulation of ranking or relevancy by removing potentially irrelevant or misleading keywords or phrases.

Still waiting for Android 5.0 to come to your device? You don’t need it to enjoy Smart Lock, one of Lollipop’s best new security features, thanks to a new third-party app called Smart Unlock that delivers the same functionality.

Compatible with any device running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and above, the $0.99 download automatically disables your lock screen security when a trusted wearable is nearby. What’s more, Smart Unlock has an advantage over Google’s own Smart Lock feature by allowing you to add trusted Wi-Fi networks, too.

HTC has been hard at work on its Lollipop update for the One M8 since Google made the Android 5.0 firmware available to hardware makers, and it has promised that users would see it within 90 days of the AOSP release. A select group of Android developers have been invited to purchase Project Tango, Google’s superpowered developer tablet that costs a whopping $1,024. Only limited quantities of the device are available, Google says, and only those chosen to receive an invite will be eligible to purchase one.
