Bloomberg is reporting that Motorola Mobility will soon have a new CEO as Google plans to replace Sanjay Jha with long time Googler Dennis Woodside. This move won’t take place until the acquisition is complete of course, but it shouldn’t be long as it has already received approval from the Europan Commission and the United States Department of Justice. There’s no word on whether or not Sanjay would still play a role in Motorola Mobility or if he would be out completely but I’m sure he’ll be well compensated either way.


Users of Google’s Flight Search will now be able to receive the same great desktop features on their mobile devices. Flight Search is now available for both Android and iOS users who search for a flight via their mobile browser. By now you may have heard the rumor that Google is working on some high-tech sci-fi glasses that will provide users with real-time information via a HUD display. While the thought alone is enough to cause an instant geekgasm, could this rumor actually come to fruition? According to the New York Times it most certainly will, and it will by year’s end.

Yesterday Bloomberg got a hold of a filing that shows our favorite company may be planning to open a stand-alone retail store at its European headquarters in Dublin. According to the local planning application, the store would be open to the public and sell unspecified “Google Merchandise.” Up until now, Google has only had their one merchandise store in California, but that one is closed to the public. Other than that, Google’s only other attempt at selling products in-store has been their Chromebook store inside of a London branch of Currys and PC World.

Yesterday the Wall Street Journal reported that Google was developing a home-entertainment system that streams music wirelessly throughout the home and would be marketed under the company’s own brand. The first thing that came to mind was Google’s Project Tungsten from last year’s Google I/O.
