Many of us are still getting acquainted with our new Android 4.1 devices (Nexus 7 in particular) so when I stumbled upon a long list of voice commands for Android 4.1, I just had to share. You may be familiar with many of the standard voice commands, but with the introduction of Google Now, there’s a whole new library of “ask and answer” commands for you to experiment with.

International travelers will appreciate today’s Google Translate update. The app, which now sits at version 2.5, has added the ability to translate text taken from a photo as well as general improvements in the app’s functionality. Google Googles has had photo translation for a bit now, but having it built into the translation app makes more sense so I’m glad they added it.

Ever since Back to the Future II came out back in 1989, everyone’s been wondering: “Where are the damn Hoverboards!?” Thankfully, Google’s got you covered. Thanks to a newly released concept video, we now know that Hoverboards are next on Google’s X Labs project list, followed by talking dogs and real life Wolverine claws!

You didn’t really think Google was going to stop at Augmented Reality glasses and self driving cars, did you?

Anyone who owns a tablet has, at one time or another, thought about how they could make it their car infotainment system. There have been a million solutions from universal mounts to professional in-dash installations, and while we’ve seen many, this is the first Nexus 7 I’ve seen double as an infotainment system. It’s an absolutely dreamy combination, and one that will have 90% of you thinking about hacking up your dash (you might want to leave it to a professional).

Every now and then, Google takes a second (or third) look at some of their projects to determine whether or not they’re worth the effort. Some projects are given the okay to continue, while others, well… they’re not so lucky. Google’s latest fatality is its much neglected podcast player, Google Listen.
