Our beloved Google Play has joined the Twittersphere and they’re ready to tweet all the great promotions, content and updates they can fit into 140 characters. Their first tweet was the customary “Hello world” you see above but we’re assuming they will be extending all their usual news from Google+/newsletters over to Twitter soon.

For some reason, Google has allowed every carrier (other than Sprint) to block access to downloading Google Wallet from the Play Store. I realize the carriers are behind this whole charade but I ultimately blame Google for not offering us another method of downloading the .apk. Thankfully the Android community is not bound by the same back door deals as Google, and are not afraid to offer up the .apk for us to download.

What did the fine folk on Google+ have to say about Apple’s iPhone 5 announcement? Well, you can see for yourselves by clicking HERE. Unfortunately our thumbnails don’t go beyond 640X400 on the site so I had to host it over on Google+ of course. As can be expected, initial impressions were not flattering, but then again, neither was Apple’s keynote *rimshot*. What about the rest of you, what are your impressions of Apple’s latest “innovation”?

[Update: Congrats Ivan92116, Anne Marie, Joe Avery, Julius Besser, and root4life! I have everyone’s emails minus Anne Marie Skorjanec Larson (email me at email hidden; JavaScript is required)]

Today, the world will be introduced to the most innovative, ground-breaking, industry leading smartphone ever (yes, I’m being sarcastic)! I’m talking about the iPhone 5 of course, and since Apple is bound to boast many new features that one can only assume they will try to pawn off as “innovative,” we figured it’d be best to play a game. Apple’s perpetual fallacy that they have created or invented, well… everything, has us excited to see what they will “steal” next.

“We didn’t believe rounded corners were patentable.”

Google was blindsided when Apple won its lawsuit against Samsung, which was really a proxy war between Apple and Google, because if Apple can defeat Google’s Android OEMs, they’ll win the battle against Google.

In an interview with Bloomberg TV, David Lawee, VP for corporate development, says that Google hopes that they are over the hump in the thermonuclear war, and he also admits that Apple winning the lawsuit was a big wakeup call. Watch the clip below for the full details.
