Google-Play-recently-updated

Google is rolling out a Google Play update that contains a number of improvements for app updates. In addition to a new “recently updated” section, where you can quickly gain access to update information, Google has also added combined update notifications, so you’ll no longer receive one for every update that’s installed.

Having already gone on sale in the United States, and been made available to pre-order in the U.K., those in Australia can now place their orders for the device starting today. Prices start at AU$299 for the 16GB Wi-Fi model, and retailer PLE Computers says the device is “due to arrive late August.”

The new Nexus 7 hasn’t even starting selling in the U.K. yet — though you can pre-order it from a number of retailers — but Very.co.uk is now offering the 32GB 4G model for £299 ($460). What’s more, it promises that you’ll receive your order “within three working days.”

For a long time after its launch, the iPad was by far the best-selling tablet on the market, and no matter how hard they tried, rival devices didn’t stand a chance of stealing its market share. But that’s all changed, according to the latest figures from IDC.

Android-powered slates saw a staggering 163% increase in the last year, and they’ve now overtaken the iPad and opened up a rather large gap in market share.
