In Android 4.4 KitKat, Google has introduced a new experimental runtime — ART a.k.a Android Run Time. Being in nascent stages, Google did not replace Android’s current runtime — Dalvik — with ART. Instead, it has hidden it under Settings for developers and tinkerers to play around with and probably get some feedback.

HTC is known for their miserable product names that makes it impossible for the average joe to make sense of. With the HTC One, the company kicked off the ‘One’ series in a hope to simplify and streamline its product line-up.

With the release of the next-gen One (M8) coming up, rumours have been floating around as to what HTC would be naming it — the One 2, One^2 or the One+.

Isn’t it frustrating when Android device manufacturers ship new releases with older versions of Google’s operating system? Well the search giant may be about to put an end to it. According to a leaked Google memo, it could soon start forcing manufacturers to ship new devices with the latest KitKat firmware.

Acer has vowed to unveil “must-have new products” at Mobile World Congress next week with a new teaser poster published on its official Google+ page. The Taiwanese company doesn’t offer too many hints at what those products may be, but it does use the hashtags “AcerLiquid” and “smartphone.”

In their Reddit AMAA, HTC was very transparent about how updates work, why it could not bring Android 4.4 KitKat to the One X/X+ and more. The company also revealed in their AMAA the (very unique) reason as to why it has been delaying the Android 4.3 update for the Sprint EVO 4G LTE, which is essentially a variant of the international One X with a kickstand.
