We have to share this next bit of information because, unfortunately, Google does not. There’s been an ongoing issue with Google Wallet, NFC, and its secure element. Since devices that carry the three are far and few between, you may not have heard much about the issue. However, it has made its way back into the spotlight thanks to an unfortunate owner of a newly released HTC EVO 4G LTE.


This one is mainly for all you new Samsung Galaxy Nexus wielding Sprint customers. By now I’m sure you are all up to your elbows in Ice Cream Sandwich, and before information overload sets in, I’d like to suggest five things you should try at least once with your Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Even if you’re a veteran user, you might want to check these out as you may have missed a thing or two.


Google Wallet has been dealt more blows than Rocky Balboa but it just won’t quit (even though some of its engineers will). Today, Google announced the acquisition of technology company TxVia and hopes their expertise will “accelerate innovation towards our full Google Wallet vision.” TxVia has worked with advanced processing technology for prepaid cards and emerging payments since 2008 and has supported the management of more than 100 million accounts. Google Wallet could use all the help it can get right now and I’m betting TxVia’s connections with major payment networks will come in handy.

After a security vulnerability within Google Wallet was discovered, Google decided to suspend the ability to add a Google prepaid card while they worked on patching things up. Google quickly fixed the issue but decided to hold off on returning the prepaid cards for a bit. I’m happy to announce that Google has finally returned the ability to add prepaid cards but you will have to update to the latest version of Google Wallet to get it. Once you update, you’ll be able to access Google’s prepaid card and any previously unused balance plus a little extra.
