As I’m sure mostĀ of you would agree, cloud-based applications and services play a huge role in the Android ecosystem. They are the foundations of the entire OS and can do some pretty amazing things, such as turning your device into a fully-functioning Sat Nav, creating a virtual aquarium for your dining room table/desk and lots, lots more.

However, you may not be aware that these applications don’t actually have to be downloaded onto your Android-powered smartphone or tablet through the built-in app store. They can, instead, be installed remotely on your handset via the official Play Store website.

Sunrise-Android

Truly gorgeous Android apps used to be few and far between, but in recent years, Google Play has seen more and more of them. The latest is Sunrise, a wonderful calendar app that has already made a name for itself on iOS thanks to its innovative design and impressive feature set.

Google is rolling out another new update to its stock Camera app to add two new panorama modes, 16:9 capturing, and a self-timer. The version 2.2 release comes less than a month after Google Camera received the ability to capture photos while recording video.

Google Search has taken delivery of a pretty nifty server-side update in the Play Store that gives users the ability to view their upcoming car rental information without having to touch their smartphone or tablet.

1Password-Android

1Password 4, the incredibly popular password manager from AgileBits, is finally coming to Android next month. Designed for both phones and tablets, the full-featured app will resemble its iOS counterpart, and it will be completely free to use… until August 1, 2014.
