Nexus 5

Google has just launched the Nexus 5 and the Nexus 7 tablet in eight new countries of Europe, much to the joy of the fans in the region. People in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Netherlands, Portugal and Sweden will now be able to pick up the premier Nexus devices directly from the local Play Store, thus avoiding the trouble of importing the smartphone from a neighboring country.

Yesterday, HTC U.K. tweeted a post bringing to our attention the Desire 816, with its 13MP rear-facing camera, it 5.5-inch HD screen and its dual-frontal speakers, evidently confirming that the handset will, indeed, be heading to the United Kingdom at some point in the not-too-distant future.

Galaxy-Note-3-KitKat

It’s going to be a good morning for readers in the U.K. who have a Galaxy S4 or Galaxy Note 3, because Samsung has finally starting rolling out its much-anticipated Android 4.4.2 KitKat upgrade. This is the same update that arrived in Germany and other parts of Europe weeks ago, and it brings a number of tasty TouchWiz improvements.

Samsung is currently rolling out the much-anticipated Android 4.4.2 KitKat update to all International models of its former flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S4, located in parts of Asia and Europe including Poland, Malaysia and the Philippines. This rather hefty upgrade is a fairly major bump up from Android 4.3, bringing support for the Galaxy Gear, together with the usual multitude of bug fixes, stability improvements and speed optimizations.

Yesterday, Samsung unveiled the successor to its relatively popular 2013 mid-range Android smartphone, the Galaxy Core. Sporting the name ‘Galaxy Core LTE’, the follow-up handset, like its predecessor, isn’t exactly what you’d call an impressive device, but it’s still pretty snappy and has more enough power to get you through the day on a single charge.
