HTC finally unveiled the One max earlier this week following months of rumors and speculation, and the Taiwanese company said that the device will be “rolling out across the globe from mid-end October.” One place it won’t be visiting, however, is Canada — because they already have enough HTC devices to choose from, according to HTC.

Yesterday, HTC pushed out a rather sizeable, much-anticipated over-the-air (OTA) update to all One handsets in Canada. The upgrade brings Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and Sense 5 to the device, complete with a mass of additional bug fixes and speed optimizations, as well as a stylish new charging animation for when the handset is powered off.

HTC president Jason Mackenzie has said that the company is working hard to provide the flagship HTC One and the Droid DNA with an Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update by the end of September in the United States and Canada.

It appears the update is already ready for the public, but the Taiwanese company is awaiting certification before it starts rolling it out.

LG G2 Snap

Following recent announcements from carriers in the U.K and U.S., Canadian operators have now started to make public their plans for LG’s latest flagship smartphone, the G2.

Canada will share the same 5.2-inch G2 as the U.S., and Bell, Rogers, SaskTel, Telus, Videotron and Wind Mobile have all declared that they will be carrying the much-anticipated handset this fall.

Google’s new Nexus 7 launched in the U.S. on July 30, and as of today – only a little over two weeks later – it’s available to purchase in Canada directly from the Play Store.
