The Xiaomi Red Rice, or the Redmi as it is more recently known, has just made its way to Singapore, marking its arrival in markets outside China. We can expect the smartphone to break cover in other prominent Asian markets soon — followed by Europe, Latin Americas, and perhaps even the U.S.

While Sony Mobile’s high-end smartphones are making all the noise right now, we mustn’t forget that a large number of company’s earnings come from midrange devices. With that in mind, we have now come across a new midrange Sony handset courtesy of a leaked image on Twitter.

Chinese manufacturer BBK came up with the ingenious idea of announcing what was supposed to be the world’s first smartphone with a 2K resolution display, the only problem is, it is still yet to launch it. The smartphone was originally scheduled for a mid-January release, then postponed to February 12 — and today here’s still no sight of it.

Queens’s University and a non-profit Canadian organization called PARTEQ have leveled an accusation against Samsung Electronics claiming technology theft. The technology in question is what Samsung calls “Smart Pause,” which basically allows for videos to be paused midway when the user looks away from the screen.
