World’s First 2K Display Smartphone Is Delayed Yet Again

Vivo Xplay 3S

Chinese manufacturer BBK came up with the ingenious idea of announcing what was supposed to be the world’s first smartphone with a 2K resolution display, the only problem is, it is still yet to launch it. The smartphone was originally scheduled for a mid-January release, then postponed to February 12 — and today here’s still no sight of it.

The reasons for the delay haven’t been mentioned yet, but it could most likely be the 2K QHD resolution display that’s causing the delay — given the demand for these panels right now. The manufacturer has now issued a statement to retailers confirming that the smartphone will be made available by the end of February in local markets.

Customers have been very eager to get the smartphone in their respective markets, but it seems like the issue is beyond the manufacturer’s control at the moment. The manufacturer will hope for a quick resolution to any supply related issues as Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy S5 flagship in less than a month, which will also sport a 2K resolution display.
