Earlier today, Google unveiled a new flavour of Android specifically meant for smartwatches, dubbed as Android Wear. The company also announced two new Android Wear running smartwatches — the LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live.

Unlike Apple, Google has always released a new version of Android within a short time of announcing it. However, it looks like the company is going to do things differently with its upcoming ‘L’ release of Android.

In an interview with BusinessWeek, Sundar Pichai, head of Android and ChromeOS at Google, revealed that the company would be previewing the next version of Android at Google I/O, which is scheduled to kick off in less than 24 hours from now.
