Samsung-Epic-4G-Touch-Receiving-Android-4-1-Jelly-Bean-at-Sprint

If you’re still the proud owner of a Sprint Epic 4G Touch, you can now update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean (build GB27). The software update is only available to download via Samsung Kies. Sprint’s support page claims that the file is “only available over-the-wire”, as the file is too large for a direct download to your device.

Samsung Stratosphere 2 owners have started receiving the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update, which adds a whole bunch of new features to their devices, including Google Now, folders, voice search, and more.

3G carriers all over the world have been pushing out their own updates for the Samsung Galaxy S II, and now Three UK has joined them. Earlier today, the company’s official Twitter account announced that an update for the Galaxy S II has been rolled out, bumping the software up to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Earlier today, Sony released the official pricing of its latest phone, the Sony Xperia ZL. The Xperia ZL will retail at $759.99 directly from Sony’s web store, however the page displays two models of the phone. The first is the C6502, this model comes with pentaband HSPA+ connectivity, whereas the second model, the C6506, comes with LTE on bands 2, 4, 5, and 17.

Sony has today announced its Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade plans for Xperia smartphones released during 2012. The Japanese company is hoping to deliver its latest software to at least six handsets by the end of March 2013, then another four handset in the “subsequent weeks.” There are four Xperia handsets that won’t be upgraded beyond Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, however.
