3G carriers all over the world have been pushing out their own updates for the Samsung Galaxy S II, and now Three UK has joined them. Earlier today, the company’s official Twitter account announced that an update for the Galaxy S II has been rolled out, bumping the software up to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

The update brings some major improvements to the device, such as improved camera features, S Cloud, Pop-Up Play, Smart Stay and the same Touchwiz Nature UX as found on the Galaxy S III. Some new Google features have also been brought in, including Project Butter and Google Now.

The Galaxy S II was one of the most popular smartphones of 2011, and it’s great to see Samsung is still updating it two years later. Jelly Bean marks the second major update the device has acquired since it was originally launched with Gingerbread.

To update your software, you’ll need the latest version of Samsung Kies software. You can download this software in addition to receiving a step-by-step update tutorial directly from Three UK by visiting the source link below.
