One of the few disappointments with the HTC One is that it still runs Android 4.1, however, a new report suggests the latest Android 4.2.2 update isn’t far away. And for existing users, it’ll be well worth the wait, because it brings a whole host of new features.

If you recall, the Droid Charge was one of the original 4G LTE devices on Verizon’s network, but it appeared to some users that it had become abandoned by Verizon, which hasn’t issued any updates for it in a while. However, the device is now due to receive an update in the near future to Android’s build FP8.

Last week we caught wind of a soak test going out to Bionic users and speculated that it had to be Ice Cream Sandwich. Well… it was and it’s been approved by Verizon. You’ll now find the support documents for the Ice Cream Sandwich update located on Verizon’s support page which means a release is right around the corner. It’s pretty safe to say Bionic users have written off Motorola at this point, but perhaps a little Ice Cream Sandwich will ease the pain until they become eligible for an upgrade.

Motorola DROID Bionic owners don’t have much to be happy about these days but perhaps an Ice Cream Sandwich update will be enough of a refresh to get them through their contracts. Reports are coming in that Motorola has begun sending out emails to members of the Motorola Feedback Network, inviting them to take part in an upcoming soak test for the Bionic. While the invitation doesn’t specifically indicate that the software upgrade will be Android 4.0, there’s a high probability that it is.

Atrix 2 users woke up to a nice surprise today. AT&T has decided to finally treat Atrix 2 users to Ice Cream Sandwich. The update, which began today, will bump up Atrix 2 users from that tired ol’ Gingerbread and have their device feeling brand spanking new.
