Meet the Gear S. Image: Samsung Tomorrow.

Today, Samsung officially took the wraps off its Gear S — the first ever standalone, Tizen-powered smartwatch with 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth compatibility. Yes, that’s right, folks. This watch does not need to be paired to a smartphone; you can stay up to date with all your notifications from social networks, calendars and applications even when your phone is nowhere to be seen. You can make and receive calls too with the Gear S. Now that’s pretty cool.

Three U.K. has confirmed that all customers have now been switched to a 4G tariff, allowing them to connect to LTE networks where available at no extra cost. Three’s LTE coverage now spans 36 towns and cities across Britain, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, and Liverpool.

Yesterday, LG officially unveiled the G2 Mini a scaled-down variant of its flagship smartphone, the G2, which made its debut appearance back in August, 2013. Unfortunately, we haven’t seen very much of the mini, except for the press renders that were published yesterday, but, thankfully, LG is now looking to publicize its latest mid-range device and has started this process by uploading an official teaser video on its YouTube channel today.

The LG G2 mini was officially announced yesterday, although the manufacturer refrained from giving out detailed information. Today, the company has shed light on three separate versions of the smartphone that it plans to launch in various markets, including two LTE-equipped models.

Tesco Mobile has today announced that it is giving all contract customers in the U.K. 4G LTE services at no extra cost. They will continue to pay the same price they’ve been paying for 3G, but they’ll get significantly faster speeds in 4G areas throughout the country.
