Jeff Bezos may be ready to roast the Galaxy and iPhone with his much-discussed Amazon Fire Phone, but judging from the first round of reviews, the handset is more of a damp squib than a firestarter.

Ahead of the smartphone’s launch tomorrow, and with the embargo lifted on the early review unit handsets, we’ve finally got an idea of how Bezos’ intriguing pet project has panned out.

And, unfortunately, “panned” seems to be the right word to describe it.

Motorola has partnered with VivaLnk’s to come up with an NFC based ‘digital tattoo’ that will make it easier for Moto X owners to unlock their device.

Simply tapping your Moto X back against the sticker on your arm or other part of the body will quickly unlock the phone, allowing users to avoid the hassle of entering their pass code every time.

Google has started rolling out an update for the Play Store app that brings with it partial implementation of the company’s new design language — Material Design.

The main page and the basic UI elements of the Play Store still remain the same but apart from that everything else has been given a beautiful revamp.

HTC-One-M8-back

Do you own an HTC One M8? If so, I’m pretty sure you’re aware of the integrated Quick Toggles menu which appears when you slide through your notification bar with two fingers. This feature presents you with shortcuts to the system settings, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. However, you may not know that you can manually select which toggles show in the menu and how they are arranged.

HTC-One-M8-keyboard

HTC today made its default Sense 6 keyboard to Google Play, making it easier to rollout updates and fixes in a speedy manor. Don’t think that this means you’ll be able to try it on third-party devices, however; it’s strictly for those made by HTC.
