Motorola has just applied for a trademark on the “Moto Maxx” moniker. Unfortunately, it’s unclear at this stage what the name could to be used for, primarily due to the combination of names from two different ranges of smartphones, but, of course, its certainly got us thinking.

Following the incredible success of its first smartphone, which is still difficult to buy due to overwhelming demand, OnePlus will undoubtedly be adding new devices to its lineup in the future. According to a new report, one of them will be a smartwatch called the “OneWatch” — and its launch is right around the corner.

Don’t get too excited just yet, though. While it’s certainly a nice idea, it’s highly unlikely for the foreseeable future.

Earlier today, Huawei got into the IFA groove and started sending out invites to an event it’s holding in Berlin on Thursday, September 4 — the eve of the annual trade show for consumer electronics and household appliances.

HTC-J-Butterfly-2014

HTC today announced its first water-resistant smartphone in Japan. It’s a successor to the J Butterfly, and in some ways, it’s a lot like the flagship One M8. It’s made out of plastic rather than aluminum, however, and there are some component changes underneath the hood.
