AccuWeather has become the latest Android app to support the Android Wear platform, and it could well be the best wearable weather app so far. Rather than an incredibly brief description of the current climate like Wear offers by default, AccuWeather provides detailed forecasts with temperatures, precipitation information, and even alerts.

We don’t usually get too excited about SD cards, but Toshiba’s new offering deserves attention — especially from photographers. Thanks to its built-in NFC chip, the new card lets you preview your photos on your smartphone or tablet by simply tapping the two together, so you don’t have to wait until you get home to your computer to see your latest snaps.

A notable omission from Google’s list of services that will support Google Cast was Spotify, the biggest music streaming service on the planet. We assumed Spotify support would be added eventually, but the company has now confirmed it will be snubbing Google’s new platform to concentrate on Spotify Connect instead.

At CES 2015 in Las Vegas this week, we got to take a look at the new YotaPhone 2, a unique smartphone from Russia that has a regular AMOLED display on its front, plus a secondary e-ink display on its back. The device is already on sale in the U.K., and YotaPhone has since confirmed that it is also coming to “one of the big four” carriers in the U.S.
