The Audio-Technica ATH-CKX7iS, which comes in, oh, about a bazillion colors. It’s a SKU horror show!

Audio-Technica has far, far too many models of in-ear earphones to count. I mean, literally — I tried counting them and gave up due to exhaustion and severe dehydration (I stopped at about 20, which makes me a wimp and means I should probably drink more water).

So why are they adding six more models (which the company is calling their “SonicFuel” series) to the mix? And why do they bear an uncanny resemblance to Monster’s iSport earphones, right down to the swiveling ports and massive flange? Whatever the answers to these questions might be, the new sets, at $50-$100, are in just about the right price-range for holiday gifts; and if the fit really is identical to what we experienced with the iSPorts, they’re probably really comfy.

Galaxy Tab 3 7.0

For the next hour and a half, Groupon is hosting a special sale on Samsung’s latest budget-friendly ultra portable Galaxy Tab variant, the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0. This particular slate usually retails for around £160, but Groupon is offering customers a 19% discount — meaning that the device can be yours for £129.

Galaxy-S4-lock-screen

Verizon has posted the official update documents for a rather pleasing upcoming upgrade for Samsung’s former flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S4. The paperwork reveals that the update, build VRUEMK2, is scheduled to bring some bug fixes and stability enhancements, in addition to unlocking the annoying micro USB restriction, which meant that users could only use official Samsung chargers on their handsets. So from now on, all non-Samsung chargers will work correctly with the S4.

Nexus-5-camera

The latest build (KOT49H) of Google’s recently updated operating system, 4.4.2 KitKat, is now officially available to download for the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10. However, this update doesn’t use Android’s standard over-the-air (OTA) upgrade process. Instead, you will have to download the 4.4.2 factory images and install them on your device via the search engine giants Developer Platform.

Android-Device-Manager-lock

Google’s official Android Device Manager application launched earlier today – not to be confused with the ADM Play Services feature which was released three months ago – and is available to download directly from the Google Play Store. This new app allows users of the service to remotely track, ring, lock, encrypt, or wipe their other devices, directly from their Android-powered smartphone or tablet.
