Sony promised its Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the Xperia Z1 and the Xperia Z Ultra would arrive this month, and today it is delivering on that promise. The new software — complete with everything that’s new in Android 4.3 and much-improved Sony apps — is rolling out “right about now.”
If you set up your new Google Play Edition Xperia Z Ultra by restoring from a backup of your previous Android-powered handset, you probably ended up with a whole bunch of apps you no longer use or need. But that’s okay, because you can just go through your app drawer and uninstall them all… right?
Wrong. It seems the new handset carries a frustrating bug that causes the handset to restart itself when its user attempts to uninstall an app.
LG insists it has not released an Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Optimus G, despite an announcement on the official LG Estonia Facebook page that said the software was on its way.
“Mistakenly, there has been information spreading via LG Electronics Estonia Facebook page that LG Optimus G (E975) will receive an Android 4.4 KitKat update in Estonia,” LG told Cult of Android. “We confirm that it is not so and sincerely apologize for any given false or ambiguous information.”
Samsung unveiled its ultra-portable Galaxy Tab 3 variant, the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, back in June, 2013, and a month later the device was available to purchase in the U.K. from several retailers for £266. However, if you haven’t had the opportunity or the wherewithal to pick one up before now, this may be just what you’ve been waiting for as Amazon is currently offering the device with an £87 discount.
Netflix is currently rolling out a staged update for its official application on the Google Play Store, which does not bring much by way of new functionality, but does bring its users the ability to sign into different user profiles — a feature that has been largely requested for a while now.
