Larry Page stepped to the blog today to announce the completion of Google’s acquisition of Motorola Mobility. It was a nine-month ordeal which finally closed thanks to a “thumbs up” from China. Larry goes on to thank former CEO Sanjay Jha, and to talk about his replacement, Dennis Woodside. Larry had nothing but positive words for Dennis and his transition to CEO of Motorola Mobility:

If you use the Amazon App Store, you’ll be happy to know the “Test Drive” feature is now available via the mobile app thanks to a recent update. Version 2.6.53. of the Amazon App Store brings bug fixes, performance enhancements, and the ability for users to test out certain apps before purchasing. The mobile “Test Drive” feature is currently in “beta” form and only seems to be active on certain devices but you can expect it to gradually make its way to more devices in the future.

It appears the HTC EVO 4G LTE has been freed from the callous clutches of U.S. Customs after clearing its International Trade Commission review. In case you didn’t know, the HTC EVO 4G LTE was held up at Customs due to allegations over patent infringement stemming from a ruling Apple won against HTC back in December. While nothing more than an inconvenience, the hold up has sparked outrage from some customers and even sparked some harsh words from Android community members. Thankfully, the wait is almost over — according to Sprint — and those who pre-ordered the HTC EVO 4G LTE can expect them to ship around Thursday, May 24.

The ASUS Transformer Pad 300 received a much welcomed update over the weekend, bringing it to build 9.4.3.29. Included in this latest update is the snazzy Face Unlock, battery usage details, and considerable performance enhancements. Users will appreciate the performance improvements, which finally address some of the annoying lag issues.

Now until May 24th, Wirefly and Verizon are offering a $40 bill credit to anyone who activates or upgrades a 4G LTE smartphone. Of course it requires a 2-year agreement, but hey, if you were planning on doing this anyways, you might as well save yourself $40.
