If you’re lucky enough to be running the latest version of Android (Android 4.1 Jelly Bean) then you already know how awesome improvements such as Project Butter and Google Now are. Google also made great enhancements in its Voice Search, and while it’s kind of Star Trek-ish when your device is talking back to you, it can also be annoying. Thankfully, there’s a way to disable speech output when using Voice Search — you know… for those times when your voice is the only one you feel like hearing.

Every month Android Developers give us a better idea of Android distribution. Releasing stats and charts to show us which versions of Android have been accessing the Play Store. This is helpful for a variety of reasons, number one being support. Developers get an idea of which versions of Android they should be concentrating their efforts on and whether or not it’s worth the extra work to support them all. After much speculation, the HTC One X+ has finally become official. The successor to the One X was announced today and features a bit of beefier specs. We had a sneaking suspicion Samsung would add the iPhone 5 to its patent infringement complaint against Apple shortly after the device made its debut. And the Korean electronics giant has now done exactly that, asking Judge Paul Grewal for permission to include the device in its latest countersuit against Apple.

There was once a time when people believed no company would ever be able to knock Microsoft from the top. Then Apple came along with their iDevices and created a culture revolution whilst catapulting themselves to the top of the technology heap. While Apple has continued to dominate the top position, Google has slowly grown from a beta search engine run by two Stanford University students to a tech giant shaping the future with its driverless cars, smart glasses, and open-source mobile operating system.
