HTC-One-Plus-case

Earlier today, we published leaked pictures of the upcoming HTC M8 — the second-generation HTC One. Until now, we’ve had no idea what the device will actually be named when it gets its unveiling this March, but according to one accessory manufacturer — which is already selling official HTC cases for the device — it’ll be the HTC One Plus.

It’s been just over three months since Google made Android 4.4 KitKat available to the public, but only 1.8 percent of Android-powered devices are running it. Jelly Bean continues to have the largest reach with a 60.7 percent share — up from 60.1 percent in January — while Gingerbread’s share is slowly but surely getting smaller.

Google has reached a tentative agreement with the European Commission following a three-year antitrust investigation into how it displays search results in Europe. As part of the agreement, the company will display search results from three of its competitors — such as Yahoo! and Bing — alongside results that promote its own services.

By reaching this agreement, Google has escaped a fine of up to $5 billion, or 10 percent of its revenue from 2012.

HTC is set to announce its second-generation One — codenamed the “M8” — in March, but like a lot of the devices that came before it, the Taiwanese company has been unable to keep it under wraps until the big day.

Photos of the device that have surfaced online this week reveal a mysterious new sensor that sits above the handset’s rear-facing camera — plus a dual LED flash. The overall look of the handset itself, however, will be almost identical to its predecessor.

Whats-On-My-Android

I spend most of my day writing about Android, so I’m always being asked by friends, family, and readers what apps and games I recommend. With that in mind, and to save myself from repeating it over and over again, I thought I’d put together a monthly roundup of the apps I’m using.

These won’t necessarily be brand new apps, but they will be apps I’ve recently discovered that you may not have stumbled across yet. February’s list includes an awesome email client called CloudMagic, a hugely frustrating yet immensely fun game, a third-party KitKat launcher, and more.
