Google has started rolling out a major new update for Google Maps (v8.2) that includes some new goodies, which should make cyclists and even general Maps users very happy.

George Hotz, aka geohot, has joined Google’s dream team of hackers.

No name in the world of iPhone hacking looms larger thank George Hotz. At only 17 years old, Hotz, aka geohot, became the first person in the world to jailbreak the iPhone back in 2007. He also released a few jailbreaks and ended up in a legal battle with Sony after hacking the PS3, but now Hotz is taking his talents to the other side, by joining an elite team of security hackers at Google.

To help plug security holes in every major piece of software that touches the internet, Google has recruited an elite team of talented hackers called Project Zero. Their mission? Find as many zero day vulnerabilities as possible, and get paid a lot of cash in process.

Sony has finally followed Samsung’s lead and given Xperia smartphone owners the ability to move applications to their microSD cards. The new feature comes bundled with the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update that began rolling out to select Xperia devices this week.

Android-Wear

Google today announced that it is already working on an API that would allow developers to seamlessly create custom watch faces for Android Wear powered smartwatches.

Right now, while users can sideload watch faces from the Play Store, they don’t work properly or lead to one or the other issue because of the lack of an official API.
