Google is part of a global consortium that plans to install an undersea cable linking the U.S. and Japan to provide faster and more reliable Internet to Asia. The search giant hopes its “FASTER” project will make Google services more accessible to billions of people.

Earlier today, the Cyanogen and OnePlus team started rolling out a major software update for the OnePlus One that brings with it a number of bug-fixes and enhancements. Since the OTA update is being rolled out in batches though, it won’t be available instantly to everyone with “full deployment” scheduled to occur from the end of this week.

If you are a OnePlus One owner and are eagerly waiting for the update to land on your phone, here is some news to brighten up your day. You can manually download the OTA update and sideload it to your device in no time, provided you are comfortable with ADB and Fastboot.

However, instead of basking on its laurels, the company is already working hard on its next chip, a 64-bit version of Tegra K1 with two-custom “Denver” cores. 

Minus the hype and availability issue, the OnePlus One is an excellent phone that offers a stellar value for money. The device has been clearly marketed towards enthusiasts, especially with the international version running CyanogenMod right out of the box. This also makes gaining root access on the One an extremely easy process. 

Nearly all of us have at least one or two applications we’d hate to be without, unfortunately, these are the ones that spam us with a ton of useless notifications. Sadly, more often than not, this causes us to delete the apps, in an effort to restore some peace in our Notification Panel. However, you may like to know that there is a much simpler fix out there, which allows you to keep the applications and thankfully disable their notifications.
