Fossil’s first Android Wear watch is simply stunning

Fossil has been promising its first Android Wear watch for a while, and today the Q Founder finally got its official unveiling. Packing a round display and an Intel processor, it’s one of the prettiest Wear devices we’ve seen so far — and it goes on sale this year.

There’s still a lot we don’t know about the Q Founder. The images Fossil revealed today show us it will have a round display and a digital crown like that of the Apple Watch, but other than that, this wearable is still very much a mystery.

It’s clearly very attractive, though. It kind of reminds of Samsung’s new Gear S2 at first glance, only it’s prettier and powered by Android Wear — not Tizen. I’m not overly keen on the Q Founder’s name, but I am definitely a fan of its design.

I’m also pleasantly surprised by its price tag. Despite the premium build, the Q Founder will start at just $275, which is $25 than the entry-level (small) Moto 360 second-gen., and $75 cheaper than the Huawei Watch.

Fossil says the Q Founder will be available in time for the holiday season. The company will also be offering three more Q-series watches, but those will be traditional analog timepieces with devices built into their straps that provide fitness and activity tracking.
