OnePlus today confirmed that its upcoming OnePlus 2 will boast 4GB of the latest LPDDR4 RAM.

Alongside with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 810 processor that’s already been confirmed, the OnePlus 2 promises to deliver “faster loading times, smoother gameplay, and never-before-seen energy saving features.”

LPDDR4 RAM is the best available for mobile devices today. It delivers twice the bandwidth of the LPDDR3 RAM employed by the vast majority of modern flagships, requires less power, and is twice as fast — with speeds of up to 32 GB/s.

The 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor that will also be packed into the OnePlus 2 is capable of taking full advantage of all 4GB of RAM, so users can expect incredible performance — and likely even better battery life — in the palm of their hand.

“All in all, LPDDR4 on the OnePlus 2 allows an even better user experience when using features such as slow-motion video, face recognition, and low-latency gaming–features that typically use a lot of bandwidth and can cause heavy lagging,” OnePlus says.

The Chinese startup has also confirmed that the OnePlus 2 will offer USB-C connectivity, and a fingerprint scanner that promises to be “faster than Touch ID.” The device will get its official unveiling in virtual reality on July 27.
