HTC is yet to give us a price tag or release date for its new One M9, which was announced at Mobile World Congress earlier this month. But according to a seemingly premature retail listing, the device will cost $649 off-contract when it goes on sale later this month.

Retailer B&H Electronics has become the first to list the One M9 ahead of its launch, and it states a $649 price tag for the 32GB model with a shipping date of March 25.

Interestingly, that is exactly the same price tag and release date of last year’s HTC One M8.

What’s unclear at this point is whether B&H has used last year’s launch details as a placeholder, or whether HTC really is planning the launch the One M9 exactly one year after the One M8 made its debut — with the same price tag.

Both sound like pretty plausible scenarios, but we always advise you to take retail listings like this one with a pinch of salt. While it may well be accurate– retailers don’t always care for embargos — you shouldn’t read too much into it until it’s confirmed by HTC.
