HTC is already rolling out its new EYE Experience app in Europe, just two days after it was unveiled alongside the Desire EYE handset at an event in New York City. The update, which is baked into Android 4.4.4 KitKat, is currently being made available to One M8 handsets in Europe.

We had expected HTC’s Android 4.4.3 update to be the last KitKat update it released for the One M8 and other flagship devices, but of course, that was before the Taiwanese company announced EYE Experience this week — which comes with a whole host of nifty features focused on photography.

With EYE Experience, users can crop themselves into different images, have their handset track their face during video conference calls, snap photos with the front- and rear-facing camera simultaneously, and share their screen with other users. Taking selfies also becomes a lot easier, with the ability to shout “say cheese!” to trigger the camera shutter.

EYE Experience is also coming to the One E8, One mini 2, One Remix, Desire 612, Desire 816, and last year’s One M7 and One mini. For now, however, it seems it’s only available to One M8 owners in Europe, who are receiving the Android 4.4.4 update over-the-air.
