Rooting your Samsung Galaxy S5 (and S5 Prime) or Galaxy Note 4 couldn’t be easier, thanks to Chainfire’s wonderfully simple root method, “CF-Auto-Root.” The tool provides users with the SuperSU binary and APK for root access under their pre-installed TouchWiz ROM.

Thanks to hacks like this, Chainfire is a well-respected member of the Android mod community. His CF-Auto-Root tool, which supports a whole host of Samsung devices, has already been downloaded over 32 million times. It delivered the first Galaxy S5 root before the handset even went on sale.

If you’re looking to root your Galaxy S5 or Galaxy Note 4, then, there’s no reason not to trust CF-Auto-Root to do the job — and it couldn’t be simpler to use. All you need to do is download the CF-Auto-Root package and flash it as “PDA” using the ODIN tool for PC.

Your device will then reboot into a modified recovery (a large red Android logo will appear), and SuperSU will be installed. The stock recovery will then be restored before your device reboots back into Android. There is one thing you should be aware of before you begin this process, however.

Rooting with CF-Auto-Root will increase your handset’s flash counter and trip the KNOX warranty flag, so once you’ve performed this process, you can forgetting any support from Samsung if you run into issues. If that doesn’t put you off, you’ll find the downloads you need and step-by-step instructions via the source link below.
