HTC Desire 8 Specifications Leaked Ahead Of February 24 Unveiling

HTC sent out invitations to its Desire 8 unveiling in Beijing earlier this week, but thanks to @Evleaks, we don’t need to wait any longer for its full list of specifications. As expected, the device will a 5.5-inch SuperLCD2 display with a 720p resolution, and it’ll powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor.

The midrange handset will also debut HTC’s new Sense 6 user interface — presumably on top of Android 4.4 KitKat — and it will be available in a whole host of pretty colors.

Bear in mind this information is yet to be confirmed by HTC yet, but given that it’s coming from the incredibly reliable @Evleaks, it’s as good as. So, here’s the full run-down of specifications for the Desire 8, which is codenamed the “HTC A5” internally:

  • 5.5-inch 720p SuperLCD2 display
  • 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor
  • 1.5GB of RAM
  • 8GB of internal storage
  • microSD card slot
  • 13-megapixel rear-facing camera
  • 5-megapixel front-facing camera
  • BoomSound speakers

The Desire 8 may not be considered a “high-end” smartphone, but based on these specifications, it’ll be a damn good midrange one. In fact, the lack of 1080p display and the Snapdragon 400 processor are really the only things you might be a little disappointed about — and neither of them are major downfalls, really.

We also know from the leaked images that the Desire 8 will look good, and @Evleaks says it’ll be available in black, white, red, yellow, and purple.
