Google is expected to announce its new Nexus smartphones on September 29, and according to sources familiar with its plans, they will be named the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P.

Nexus 5X is a name that we’ve already heard a number of times, but Nexus 6P is not. It’s unclear at this point where those names — or specifically the suffixes — come from, but we should find out when Google makes them official.

However, Droid-Life, which was first to report these names, citing a “reliable source,” notes that “there is always a chance that things can change between now and each phone’s announcement” on September 29.

The source also confirms that the leaked images of Google’s new Nexus smartphones from LG and Huawei, which we’ve seen numerous times from various sources, are indeed accurate.

The Nexus 5X is expected to offer a 5.2-inch Quad HD display, a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, a fingerprint scanner, and USB-C connectivity. The Nexus 6P will reportedly have a larger 5.7-inch display, and a faster Snapdragon 810 processor.
