OnePlus is putting a fingerprint scanner inside its upcoming OnePlus 2, and it promises to be better than any of the scanners we’ve seen on Android devices so far. So good, in fact, that OnePlus claims it’s “faster than Touch ID” on Apple’s iOS devices.

We already have fingerprint scanners on Android devices, but they’ve all been incredibly disappointing so far. The Galaxy S6 and S6 edge are by far the best available, but they’re still nowhere near as accurate or as reliable as Touch ID on an iPhone.

The OnePlus 2 hopes to change that with “one of the latest and most advanced fingerprint scanners out there.” It’s secure, reliable, and one quick tap will unlock your device and take you straight to the home screen.

OnePlus hasn’t confirmed what kind of fingerprint scanner it is using, but given its relationship with Qualcomm, there’s a chance the Chinese company may have chosen the scanner Qualcomm showed off at Mobile World Congress back in March.

Called Sense ID, the technology uses ultrasonic waves to penetrate the outer layers of your skin and form a detailed 3D image of your fingerprint that’s more accurate than ever before. It doesn’t just map the print itself, but also sweat pores and ridge flow.

Unlike Touch ID, Sense ID still works when your finger is wet or dirty, and it can even work through aluminum, stainless steel, and other materials.

But again, OnePlus hasn’t confirmed what kind of scanner it is using, so it may well be something completely different. Other specifications it has confirmed for the OnePlus 2, however, include the Snapdragon 810 processor and a USB-C port.

The OnePlus 2 will be the first device to be unveiled in virtual reality on July 27.
