Google has confirmed plans to bring an offline mode to YouTube that will allow users to download videos and watch them later without a data connection. The feature will be rolled out to users “in the coming weeks,” but there is a catch.

When Samsung first unveiled the Galaxy Note in 2011, a lot of people laughed. Heck, I know I did: I said at the time that Samsung’s ginormous new product was a rip-off of the Apple Newton.

However, with the iPhone 6 Plus landing on Friday, I’ll be the first person to admit that while I still think a 5.5-inch smartphone is ridiculous, a lot of people seem to want one.

So when Samsung releases an ad, serving up claim chowder to all the journalists like Mashable, Boy Genius Report, and the Wall Street Journal who laughed at the Note three years ago, I have to say, they have it coming to them. They were right!

Google has published a pair of new ads on YouTube that remind us how awesomely powerful its “Ok Google” search function is on Android. The simple yet meaningful clips demonstrate how the feature is used every day to quickly access all kinds of information.

Facebook today became the first third-party Android app (not build by Google) to surpass 1 billion installs from Google Play. It’s even more popular than a number of Google’s own apps, including Hangouts, Google Search, and even Chrome.

The HTC One E8 is now available in the U.S. on Sprint. This the slightly cheaper alternative to HTC’s flagship One M8, but it comes with a lot of the same specifications. The biggest difference between the two is that the One E8 has swapped aluminum for a more affordable plastic form factor.
