The last person you’d expect to get a full rundown on an unreleased product from is someone on the end of a technical support line, but it appears Asus may have been briefing its support staff on the second-generation Nexus 7 ahead of its release.

A Redditor has posted a screenshot of a live web chat he has with an Asus employee, who spilled pretty much everything there is to know about the new Nexus 7 — apart from its price and release date.

HP famously gave up on its smartphone and tablet business back in 2011 when it announced that it would no longer be developing hardware powered by its webOS platform. But two years later, the company is planning to have another crack at it.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is to launch in the United Kingdom this weekend, almost a week ahead of its expected July 5 launch date. A number of online retailers are promising delivery on Saturday, June 29, while Phones 4U says that the handset will arrive on Monday.

Prices start at £365 ($561).

Sony has unveiled its new Xperia Z Ultra phablet at the Mobile Asia Expo in Shanghai this morning. The device boasts a large 6.4-inch display, the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor running at 2.2GHz, and 4G LTE connectivity. Like its little brother, the Xperia Z, the Xperia Z Ultra is also waterproof.

Samsung has today confirmed that its new Galaxy Tab 3 family will be available in the United States starting July 7. The Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, the smallest of the three devices, is also the cheapest at $199, while the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 and the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 will cost $299 and $399 respectively.
