After Android 4.4.2 KitKat was released by Google, HTC was quick to announce that it would update the carrier variants of the One in the US to KitKat within 90 days. However, a few days ago the company announced that it would be missing its self-imposed deadline as the update has been delayed for at least a couple of weeks.

Now, in a surprising turn of events, Sprint has announced that One owners in the United States can manually pull the KitKat update from their servers with a wider roll-out beginning from 11th February.

The demand for 4G LTE connectivity has never been greater, so, consequently, operators are pulling out all the stops to try to fulfil the extremely high demand and Sprint Corporation is no exception. In an effort to keep up with its competitors, Sprint announced this morning that it has launched its high-speed 4G LTE data in an additional 40 locations across the United States, bumping its networks total number of nationwide markets up to 340.

Today, Sprint officially announced that the world’s first curved self-healing smartphone, the LG G Flex, will be available to purchase in any of its bricks-and-mortar stores nationwide from Friday, February 7. The press release also included a statement from the operator notifying potential customers that they can pre-order the handset today and get it delivered by January 31.

Sprint is currently pushing out a relatively minor over-the-air stability update to all its carrier-branded HTC One devices located in the United States. Sadly, this upgrade doesn’t bring any major software modifications, such as Android 4.4 KitKat, but it does include a repair for the issue that ‘blocked users from being able to Update Profile/PRL.’
