The new HTC One (M8) was also announced in a Google Play Edition variant yesterday carrying a price tag of $700. And to accommodate for the new entry, Google has decided to slash prices of the Google Play Edition HTC One from last year.

In a barrage of HTC One (M8) announcements, the company also quietly announced that it plans on bringing BlinkFeed to all other Android device sometime soon via the Play Store. The company has also opened up BlinkFeed to developers allowing them to add their own content sources and custom feed views.

HTC has just released BlinkFeed Launcher and the HTC Service pack apps in the Google Play Store. The apps are meant only for Sense 6.0 running devices from the looks of it, which means that it’s incompatible with every handset available in the market today. But a Sense 6.0 update to older HTC devices should bring compatibility with these apps.

Google officially updated its Play Store support page earlier today by notifying consumers that it has just launched its Play Store gift cards in Austria, as it continues on its quest to expand its worldwide availability with €15, €25 and €50 denominations.
