Google is only hours away from stockpiling the Play store with Nexi galore. Sometime after midnight (PST) the Nexus 4, Nexus 10, and Nexus 7 32GB/3G are expected to go on sale here in the US. Rumors have already been flying around that the Australia Play Store quickly sold out, and judging by the giddy schoolgirl reactions I’m seeing on Google+, I’d say the same will happen here in the states.

You’d think a handcrafted Nexus 7 tablet case made in the U.S. using time tested bookbinding techniques would be a rare occurrence, yet here I am, reviewing my third product of its kind. It’s not only surprising, but quite refreshing. I’m actually quite proud to see American craftsmanship being used to mesh old world techniques with modern day products. It’s both nostalgic and, well… modern.

This next case comes to us from Portenzo, a tried-and-true company known for creating fantastic made-to-order iPad cases. While I can’t promise the Portenzo BookCase for the Nexus 7 will be the last hardcover case I review, I can say this: it’s one of the best I’ve reviewed.

Now that Google has unveiled its Trifecta of Nexus devices, I can’t help but feel underwhelmed. I can’t exactly pin-point why I feel this way, but alas, I do. Perhaps my perception of what a Nexus device should represent has become misguided. I’m not sure when I began to expect more than just a Vanilla experience, but the latest batch of Nexus devices has knocked me back to the reality that “Nexus” means nothing more than having an untainted Android OS with certain end-user freedoms and timely updates.

Last on the list of announced Nexus devices is a refresh of the popular Nexus 7. The 32GB Nexus 7 was probably the least secret of all the new devices announced. Retailers just couldn’t keep this thing under wraps and even went as far as to sell a few before Google ever had the chance to announce its existence. Nevertheless, Google has finally got around to giving us the full details and they’re just as expected.

It’s official! Google will not be rescheduling its October 29 event and has instead decided to simply launch the next batch of Nexus devices (probably a smart idea considering the barrage of leaks showing just about everything). Google has officially announced the Nexus 10, Nexus 7 32GB, and LG Nexus 4.
