LG-G2

LG is currently in the midst of rolling out the much-anticipated Android 4.4.2 KitKat over-the-air (OTA) update to all models of its flagship smartphone, the G2, currently located in Canada. In terms of added functionality, the upgrade brings Android 4.4.2 KitKat and Knock Code to the handset, complete with the usual plethora of bug fixes, speed optimizations and stability improvements that we’ve grown to expect from any major software update.

With the LG G2, the Korean company introduced a nifty double-tap to wake and sleep feature. Soon after, the company introduced Knock Code on the G Pro 2 and other devices that allows users to wake up and unlock their device by tapping in a certain pattern on the screen.

A new report states that LG could be looking to reduce prices of the G Pro 2 and the G2 flagships once the Samsung Galaxy S5 arrives in the market in mid-April. It is said that the G Pro 2 is currently outselling the G2 despite being a phablet, so it’s feasible to slash prices in order to make them more attractive to the buyers.

After a short recess, T-Mobile is now resuming its OTA KitKat rollout and has started by pushing the beefy Android 4.4.2  update to all its carrier-branded LG G2 smartphones currently located in the United States. This much-anticipated update finally brings the latest version of the open-source operating system together with a multitude of ‘bug fixes, speed optimizations and user experience improvements’.

Yesterday, popular French carrier, SFR, posted the official update documents of its first major upgrade for LG’s G2 and Sony’s Xperia range of smartphones, including the Z1, Z1 Compact and Z Ultra .The paperwork reveals that the update is scheduled to bring the most recent build of KitKat (4.4.2), in addition to a multitude of bug fixes, stability improvements and speed optimizations.
