Google unveiled Chromecast at its San Francisco breakfast event less than 48 hours ago, a device which enables you to “cast” music, movies, and photos from your computer, smartphone or tablet, directly to your HD TV. However, if you’re using a desktop you can only display your screens content if you are using Chrome, and now Google has released the official Cast extension to empower you to do just that.

Android 4.3 isn’t exactly Google’s most exciting update to date — most of its changes take place under the hood — but it does come with a snazzy new wallpaper that you will have seen in all of the promotional shots for the new Nexus 7.

The new Nexus 7 was showcased yesterday, and Google overwhelmed us with an abundance of new features the device will support. It quickly became evident whilst watching the press event that the team at Mountain View have targeted the student market and are promoting the new features to appeal to both students in lower and higher education.

Google showed off a couple of promotional videos for the new Nexus 7 during its press event on Wednesday, but if you didn’t get a chance to tune in, you would have missed them. Fortunately, they can now be found on YouTube via the official Nexus channel.

There are two videos for the new device — one of which promotes its virtual surround sound from Fraunhofer, while the other, called “Fear Less,” demonstrates how the device’s wide range of features can be used in education.

Google-Nexus-10Google unveiled its new Nexus 7 on Wednesday, and it’s set to be accompanied by a second-generation Samsung Nexus 10 “in the near future.” That’s according to The Wall Street Journal’s Amir Efrati, who got chatting to Android chief Sundar Pichai after the press event in San Francisco.
