These discounted apps aren’t just a pile of random garbage either. Some of the Google Play’s top and most recent apps are being offered for a mere quarter — I’d say that’s enough to get anyone searching between their couch cushions for a bit of spare change.

NimbleBit’s pixelated airline sim has flown itself into the Play store courtesy of Mobage. This tiny time consumer took iOS by storm, amassing more than 2.4 million downloads in 3 months and earning an Editor’s Choice award. This fully featured 8-bit sim is free to download on the Play store and puts users in control of growing their own fleet of planes across 250 cities.

Our beloved Google Play has joined the Twittersphere and they’re ready to tweet all the great promotions, content and updates they can fit into 140 characters. Their first tweet was the customary “Hello world” you see above but we’re assuming they will be extending all their usual news from Google+/newsletters over to Twitter soon.
