Nokia-X2

Nokia today announced its first Android-powered smartphone since it was acquired by Microsoft. It’s called the Nokia X2 and it’s a slightly improved version of the Nokia X that was announced at Mobile World Congress back in February. In addition to dual SIM card slots, it has a faster processor, more RAM, and a better camera.

Google made a nice improvement to search on Android this week that’s going to be a big hit with music lovers. When looking for bands or artists, Google Search will now present users with handy links to their music apps.

The iPhone comes with a very handy kill switch which locks the handset in case a thief steals and then tries to factory reset it. While this kill switch will not help you in getting back your smartphone, it will at least allow you to “kill” it and protect your important data from prying eyes.

Now, in a statement issued to Bloomberg, Google has confirmed that it would be introducing a “factory reset protection solution” with the next version of Android .

Better late than never! Two years after it launched on iOS, Nike has finally gotten around to releasing an Android version of the Nike+ FuelBand app, making Nike wrist-based fitness tracker and activity monitor available to those without an iPhone.

The app functions with the company’s FuelBand SE wristband. It links to the online Nike+ profile, which periodically updates with the user’s score from the device, courtesy of its Bluetooth 4.0 connection. Users have the option of setting and updating daily goals from inside the app. There’s also an activity function for reminding you about specific activities, as well as a scoreboard that lets users match up with others in their social network.

Domino’s Pizza has today added Nuance voice recognition to its Android and iOS apps, enabling users to order pizza using their voice. The technology provides a “human-like” customer service experience that hopes to make it easier to order your dinner on the go.
