As we get bombarded with new devices in preparation for the holiday season, we start to see currently offered devices receive major price discounts. Among are favorite deal brokers is Amazon Wireless — who consistently offers a better deal than the carrier. In fact, right now, Amazon is offering up one of the best devices currently available, the Samsung Galaxy S III, for a mere $99.99.

It’s only been a couple weeks since Amazon Wireless dropped the price of the HTC One X to $19.99 (new 2-year contract/customers) and they’re already dropping the price even lower. Lower?! How much lower can they go without giving it away? How’s a penny sound? That’s right, for a penny and a 2-year contract with AT&T, you can grab yourself a brand new HTC One X.

Out with the old, in with the new. That’s how the saying goes and that’s what we’re starting to see as carriers and retailers begin discounting their old hardware in preparation for the newer models. One such price cut can be seen on Amazon Wireless; where the 32GB DROID RAZR MAXX is now only $49.99 for new customers signing a 2-year contract.

Check any of the recent iPhone 5 vs Android comparison charts and you’re sure to find the HTC One X listed alongside the best of them. It’s a solid device which would have experienced better sales if it hadn’t been for the Samsung Galaxy S III. It didn’t take long for AT&T to drop the price to an attractive $99, unfortunately the mobile tech world moves at lightspeed, leaving the HTC One X in the dust.

If you’re on a budget and looking for a new smartphone, Amazon Wireless is always the first place to look. Some of the deals they pull out are simply amazing. For example, the newly released Motorola DROID RAZR M is now available on Amazon Wireless for $49.99 (new users signing a two-year contract). This device was only released yesterday and Amazon already has it at half the retail cost!
