If you’ve been expecting Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note III to look just like a giant Galaxy S4, then you won’t be too surprised by these leaked illustrations taken from a Galaxy Note III user manual. They reveal the new phablet will look almost identical to its little brother, with improvements like a Xenon flash and a 5.7-inch 1080p display.

Just over a week ago, Vodafone confirmed that it would be the only U.K. network to carry Huawei’s 6.1-inch phablet, the Ascend Mate, but gave no indication of its release date. As of yesterday, residents in the United Kingdom are now able to pick up the Mate on Vodafone for free on a £29 per month contract, or for a one time payment of £300 on PAYG.

Virgin Mobile has announced that it is now carrying the LG Optimus F3 off-contract for $179.99, with Virgin’s “Beyond Talk” non-contract plan; which offers unlimited data and messaging starting at a $35 per month top-up.

Google has released its earnings for the second fiscal quarter, and the numbers aren’t that great. Revenues were $14.11 billion—down from Wall Street’s $14.45 billion consensus. The company brought in a profit of $3.23 billion, which is actually down from $3.24 billion this time last year.

“Google had a great quarter with over $14 billion in revenue – up 19% year-on-year,” said Larry Page, CEO of Google. “The shift from one screen to multiple screens and mobility creates tremendous opportunity for Google. With more devices, more information, and more activity online than ever, the potential to improve people’s lives even more is immense.”
