You can’t get Altec Lansing’s new The Jacket iMW455 Bluetooth speaker/speakerphone from anyone other than Verizon, which explains the red and black skins the Jacket comes with.

Don’t like red or black? No problem — because, like a moulting lobster, The Jacket’s special trick is its ability to swap skins. The speaker comes with the two free skins, with more colors available for a price — though we’re not yet sure which colors or how much.

We’re starting to catch sight of the new Nexus 7’s first official accessories less than a week after the device was announced. In the past, it has taken several months for ASUS in conjunction with Google to produce accessories for the Nexus range, but now just within a couple of days of its unveiling we are already starting to see three new ASUS manufactured products.

After going on sale online at retailers like Best Buy, Amazon, and Walmart, the second-gen Nexus 7 has been made available for purchase in the Google Play Store. The tablet wasn’t supposed to go on sale until July 30th, but retailers and Google have decided to lift the curtain several days early.

A nice thing about ordering through the Play Store is that Google is offering free shipping. The first round of shipments won’t go out until July 30th, but you can pay an extra $13.99 to have your device shipped to you in two business days.

The 16Gb Nexus 7 costs $299, and the 32GB model costs $269.

Android 4.3 was announced a couple of days ago, and we are still discovering the enhancements and new features that this build has to offer. According to Google Maps, Product Manager for Photo Sphere, Evan Rapoport, the development team have worked tirelessly in order to make the program work better on compatible devices running the latest version of Android, and consequently a lot of the issues that were found in the initial software have now been eradicated.

Google’s newly updated Nexus 7 isn’t supposed to officially launch until July 30th but if you’re starving to get it now you can pick it up from a couple of retailers early.

Best Buy confirmed this morning that the Nexus 7 is available at all Best Buy stores now. Amazon has also started taking orders for the device on its website and is even offering same day delivery for it in some areas. Walmart appears to have received its initial stock as well.
