LG has begun issuing invites for a G Flex launch event in Hong Kong on December 3, signaling the company’s intentions to start selling the device internationally. The G Flex first went on sale in South Korea last month, but we’ve been expecting it to expand its reach before the holiday season.

HTC is reportedly looking to turn its back on Qualcomm and purchase its smartphone processors from other manufacturers instead. The company has already launched two entry-level Desire devices with ST-Ericsson and Spreadtrum Shark chips, but it could be looking for cheaper alternatives to high-end processors as well.

A number of Android smartphone makers — including HTC, Motorola, and even Sony — have all announced their Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade plans for their latest flagship devices, but we haven’t yet heard anything official from LG regarding the G2.

But according to one LG Canada representative, the handset will receive the latest version of Android in “late Q1” 2014.

Amazon has announced that it is giving away a bunch of awesome Android games for Thanksgiving weekend. The retailers Ultimate Game Collection includes favorites like Sonic the Hedgehog, Angry Birds Space, and Fruit Ninja — all of which are now free for a limited time through the Amazon Appstore.

FIFA has launched its new app as part of the countdown to 6 December’s 2014 football World Cup draw.

The free app is available for both iOS and Android devices, and offers not just the live draw in streaming video, but also match schedules, destination guides and team profiles for the tournament — set to take place in Brazil in summer 2014.
