On Tuesday, September 3, Google’s head of Android and Chrome, Sundar Pichai, confirmed that the next version of Android will not follow the typical generic desert naming system, but will instead be entitled Android 4.4 KitKat. An anonymous source has leaked some crucial information, suggesting that the updated version of the mobile OS will be announced on October 14.

Google is pushing out a new update for its Maps application, which received a rather hefty upgrade not too long ago. This new update makes accessing the navigation screen considerably quicker and easier, with the introduction of a Google Now route and traffic overview card.
